PhD Opportunities in Language Engineering

The Information Technology Research Institute offers a unique
opportunity for bright dynamic graduates in the fields of Computer Science
or Linguistics to study for a PhD. We can offer places to study one (or
more) of the following topics in Computational Linguistics:

    document generation (including text generation); dialogue;
     lexicons;  natural language interfaces; information extraction.


Students work closely with established researchers, usually contributing
to existing funded projects.  The ITRI offers an excellent environment for
apprentice academics to work with internationally renowned researchers
in the field, and to themselves become part of the international reseach
community.

Applicants should have a good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant
subject (e.g. Computer Science, Computational Linguistics or Linguistics)
or be expecting to achieve this, if final year students).

Various funding routes may be available, depending on applicants' background,
intended area of research and nationality.
