Marie Curie Fellowships at Utrecht University, UiL OTS

The Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS is a research institute of
the faculty of arts of Utrecht University. About a hundred people are
involved including 12 full professors, 16 postdoctoral researchers and
approximately 40 graduate students (http://www-uilots.let.uu.nl/).

The goal of UiL OTS is to develop scientific expertise in the area of
language, speech and their use. UiL OTS participates in the
Netherlands Graduate School of Linguistics and in the Graduate school
of Logic. UiL OTS research comprises the following six areas: (i)
Syntax and Semantics, (ii) Morphology & Phonology, (iii) Computational
Linguistics & Logic, (iv) Phonetics, (v) Language Development, and (vi)
Language Use. The UiL OTS research programme brings together research
from different strands of linguistics and related disciplines such as
logic, computer science, cognitive science, teaching, and social
science. Specific domains of interdisciplinary co-operation include:
primary and secondary language acquisition, language processing,
relations between language, logic and information.

UiL OTS is seeking ambitious and enthusiastic candidates for:

4 Marie Curie Fellowships
starting: April 1 - Oktober 1, 2002
duration: variable between 3 -12 months.

Doctoral students preparing a PhD dissertation in Linguistics,
especially in one of the fields mentioned above are invited to
apply. A fellowship involves taking part in the graduate training of
UiL OTS. As part of their training, candidates will be able to follow
courses at UiL OTS and in the graduate programmes of the National
Graduate School of Linguistics (LOT). Furthermore, they receive
individual supervision from the UiL OTS faculty.

We are looking for candidates who show an enthusiasm for scientific
research and an evident interest in one of the areas provided by the
UiL OTS programme. Female candidates are encouraged to apply. We offer
a stimulating and innovative research environment with many
international contacts, a programme which offers possibilities for
advanced education in a broad area of linguistics, standard desk
facilities and good experimental facilities. A fellowship involves a
monthly allowance of Euro 1200.
