CALL FOR PAPERS: ISSUES IN APPLIED LINGUISTICS
Please distribute widely
Issues in Applied Linguistics (ial) is currently accepting manuscripts for
review for upcoming general issues to be published in June and December 2001.
ial is a refereed scholarly journal published by the graduate students of
the UCLA Department of Applied Linguistics & TESL. Our aim is to publish
outstanding research from students, faculty, and independent researchers in
areas such as, but not limited to:
Conversation analysis, Discourse analysis, Functional linguistics, Language
acquisition, Language assessment, Language education, Language use,
Language and the brain, Research methodology, and Sociolinguistics. We are
particularly interested in publishing new departures and cross-disciplinary
applied linguistic research.
Submissions, should be submitted in three copies and sent to:

Manuscripts must be printed double spaced (including the references,
examples, etc.) on one side only of white 8 1/2 x 11 or A4 paper, with
black printing ink. Figures and tables should be numbered, captioned, and
printed on separate sheets. Please attach a separate cover sheet with the
following information: 1) the full title of your paper; 2) your name; 3)
name and address of your institution (or other address where you can best
be reached); 4) your phone number (work and home); 5) fax number and e-mail
address (if any); 6) short title of your paper (for running head); 7)
indicate which issue manuscript is being submitted for. The first page must
also include an abstract of the article which is less than 150 words. Aside
from the cover sheet, the author's name should not appear on the manuscript
itself.
References and citations should be made using APA Format. All references
cited in the text must be listed in the references list
alphabetically. For more information, please see the Publication Manual of
the American Psychological Association, Fourth Edition.
Submission of an article or book review is taken to imply that the
manuscript has not been previously published or submitted simultaneously to
another publication. If a related article has been published elsewhere,
this should be noted. Acceptance of articles will be contingent on the
assignment of copyrights to the UC Regents, the publisher of ial.
