POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication Disorders.
Full-time (9-month), Continuous, Tenure Track Appointment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in communication sciences and disorders, child
development, psychology, education, linguistics, or a related field
with an emphasis in multicultural issues relating to language and
literacy development in the context of family and society.  A
demonstrated record of scholarship and promise of external funding.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop a research program that will strengthen the
links between research and practice in the areas of language and
literacy development and disorders currently targeted in the
Department of Communication Disorders and in the interdisciplinary
initiatives of Penn State's Children, Youth, and Families Consortium.
Commitment to graduate and undergraduate education through teaching
graduate/undergraduate courses; supervising undergraduate/graduate
(M.S./Ph.D.) research and service to the Department, College, and
University.  The Department is committed to diversity and seeks to
supplement and expand upon current faculty's expertise in
multicultural issues.

STARTING DATE:  Fall Semester, 2002

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
