This is a one-year, full-time research position at the English
Language and Literature Academic Group of the National Institute of
Education, Singapore. The ideal candidate should have at least a
Master's degree in language education or a related field. S/he should
have research and academic writing experience, preferably on topics
related to language learning styles and strategies. S/he should also
work proactively under the Principal Investigator in overseeing the
smooth execution and day-to-day running of the project.
Responsibilities:
As the only full-time researcher, the Research
Associate/Project Manager is expected to actively
-Work with a team of researchers and report to the Principal
Investigator
-Oversee the overall design
-Work independently to translate overall design into workable research
-Locate, collect, and print relevant materials
-Compile a comprehensive bibliography on language learning styles and
strategies
-Visit participating schools to collect data / oversee data collection
by research assistants
-Analyse data / direct research assistants to analyse data
-Oversee the day-to-day running and management of the project (e.g.,
filing documents and data, reimbursement of research assistant fees,
booking air tickets, arranging accommodation for external member,
photocopying, etc.)
-Purchase and manage research equipments/facilities
-Organise meetings that are necessary
-Liase with relevant MOE authorities
-Liase with participating schools (principals, HoDs, teachers, and
students)
-Help recruit part-time research assistants to carry out different
parts of the project
-Write up progress reports
Remuneration:
S$3,000 per month plus relevant benefits
