Subject:  logico linguistic question about the operator
	"FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF  X"

Friends and colleagues, we would be extremely interested in finding
out informations about the logical, linguistic, and more generally
formal, treatment of

FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF X

where the capitalized phrase is considered as an operator (along the
lines of intensional logic operators.)

It is perhaps worthwhile to remark that we are interested in the laws
and/or rules that describe iterations of the phrase (i.e.  from the
point of view of x P and the iterated from from the point of view of x
[from the point of view of y, P] where it is not necessary the case
that x=y) as well as the inferences thatt can be licensed when one
single speaker:subject takes different points oif view.  The hunch is
that there may be major differences between traditional (alethic,
modal, epistemic) logical sentential operators and the "from the point
of view of" operator.  any discussion, suggestions, reference will be
greatly appreciated.  please send replies directly to

Subject:  Dictionary Techniques for Adult Learners?

Dear colleagues,

I am currently compiling a list of mainly online material to improve
students' performance with both monolingual and bilingual
dictionaries. Finding material for both elementary and secondary
school students does not seem to be a problem, finding material for
mature students in both academic and especially _vocational_ setting,
however, proves to be a difficult task.

Since the project is aimed at colleagues involved in teaching future
language teachers in general, I am interested in links for all
languages and all writing systems and would really appreciate your
help.
