Description:
Two appointments--one tenure-track and the second possibly convertible
to tenure-track--are intended in the area of computational linguistics
beginning in 2005. Applicants should preferably have the Ph.D. degree
and be highly qualified for undergraduate and graduate teaching and
independent research. Candidates in the final stages of their
dissertation may be appointed on an acting basis.
The University of Washington is currently building a specialization in
computational linguistics and launching a one-year professional MA in the
field in 2005-2006. The teaching duties associated with these positions will
be primarily in the MA program. We are especially interested in candidates
with research specializations in statistical NLP, speech processing, or
computational phonetics/phonology.

before December 1, 2004.
