The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Department of English
invite applications from, and nominations of, senior scholars to join
the English Department at the rank of full professor with tenure to
serve as department chair to begin July 1, 2005. We seek an
academic with a record of distinguished scholarship, demonstrated
administrative success, and a commitment to open and collegial
leadership. Scholars who work in any time period or field of
English studies - including literature, linguistics, and
rhetoric/composition - are encouraged to apply.
Send: Letter of interest; curriculum vitae; a vision statement
describing the applicant's approach to leading and enhancing the
quality of a major doctoral-degree granting department with a strong
commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and teacher
preparation; and the names, addresses, and email addresses of five
references.
