Description:

The University of Central Florida invites applications for an Associate
Professor in TESOL in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. This
position will be based at the Cocoa or Palm Bay campus.  

Starting date: August 2006.

Applicants should send a letter of interest expressing their academic and
administrative philosophy, curriculum vitae, transcript(s), and three recent (3
years or less) letters of recommendation.  

Duties:  
(1)  Teach graduate and undergraduate courses (2/2 load) in a dynamic M.A. TESOL
program, including courses such Applied Linguistics for ESOL, Second Language
Acquisition, TESOL Research Methods, ESOL Curriculum, or ESOL Methods.  
(2)  Coordinate sections of an undergraduate course in Applied Linguistics for
Education majors (TSL 4141).

Required qualifications:
Ph.D. in TESOL or related field.  Evidence of scholarly research within academic
discipline commensurate with designated rank (assistant or associate professor),
superior teaching (graduate and undergraduate as well as ESL and EFL experience
preferred), and commitment to traditional as well as alternative instructional
delivery methods (e.g., web-based).  Competitive salary and benefits.
