Description:
Applications are invited to the PhD program in French Linguistics at the
University of California, Davis, Department of French and Italian. Students work
with dedicated French linguistics faculty specializing in phonology, second
language acquisition, syntax, and language change, as well as with linguistic
faculty in a wide variety of other discipline areas. The standard departmental
financial aid package includes a tuition waiver, a teaching assistantship
stipend, and health insurance. Competitive fellowships are also available for
the most highly qualified applicants; students may also pursue research and
scholarship abroad through one of the University of California Education Abroad
