Description:
A scholar with expertise in the Spanish and Latin American baroque, with
emphasis on Mexico and Central America (or Andean countries). Ability to
handle Spanish Golden Age literature, but also the Latin American baroque,
preferably literature written by women. The Latin American focus would be
on colonial literature (discovery, baroque, travel literature, and the
emergence of national literatures in the post-independence period).
The successful candidate will have PhD in hand by September 1, 2007 and
will be expected to teach four courses per year (two each in the fall and
spring semesters). In addition the successful candidate will be expected to
participate on various departmental committees.
