Abstract:
This book shows systematically how the use of the Korean language in South
Korea has changed for fifty years.
It is composed of the following five parts: (1) the use of Korean in the
twenty first century, (2) ups and downs of words in fashion, (3) the change
of the Korean appellation system, (4) adopted words, (5) Sino-Korean words
and the education of them.
This book does not place emphasis on the norm of standard Korean, but the
real side of words and actions of Korean native speakers. So, it is a
valuable research material for studies of Korean in the latter half of the
twenty century.
