Meeting Description:
The conference aims to promote an interdisciplinary and multi-methodological
approach to the study of genre and discourse practices within the domain of
specialised communication. The objective is to contribute to our understanding
of the phenomena of genre hybridization and discourse contamination, also with
reference to the exploitation of web-based channels.
Call for Papers
We welcome proposals from scholars in the fields of genre and discourse studies
exploring genre creation, migration, evolution and hybridization in the
following discourse areas:
1. Academic
2. Economic
3. Institutional
4. Legal
5. Political and socio-political
6. Professional.

Submission of Abstracts
The abstracts should be between 300 and 500 words (excluding references) and
include title and 3 to 5 keywords, clearly indicating one of the six discourse
areas listed above. They should be sent in electronic form as an anonymous Word
document with an accompanying presentation sheet in which the following
information should appear:
- Title of paper
- Name of author
- Institutional affiliation
- E-mail address
- Telephone and fax number
- Postal address
Proposals should be sent to both the following e-mail addresses:
giuditta.caliendo at unina.it, antonella.napolitano at unisannio.it. Please, quote
'Proposal Naples 2009' as the subject of your e-mail message.
The language of the conference is English.
