Description:

We invite applications for an open-rank position in semantic, pragmatic,
lexical, and/or syntactic processing of language beginning July 1, 2010.
Expertise at the intersection of theoretical and experimental approaches is
expected, and the successful candidate will have a strong experimental
research program informed by theoretical issues in linguistics. Applicants
should also have a broad teaching ability in cognitive science and
linguistics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be able to
teach introductory courses in theoretical areas of language and linguistics
as well as introductory and more advanced courses in areas of
psycholinguistics. 

Brown has a highly interdisciplinary research environment in the study of 
mind, brain, behavior, and language and is establishing an integrated
Department of Cognitive, Linguistic, and Psychological Sciences, effective 
July 2010. Plans to house the department in a newly renovated 
state-of-the-art building in the heart of campus are well under way. 

Curriculum vitae, reprints and preprints of publications, statements of 
research and teaching interests (one page each), and three letters of
reference (for junior applicants) or names of five referees (for senior
applicants) should be submitted as PDFs to the email address below,

2009 are assured of full review. All Ph.D. requirements must be completed
