Description:
The African Languages and Literatures Section of the School of Languages
and Literatures invite applications for the above position, for appointment
as soon as possible.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree (progress towards a PhD would be a recommendation)
- Experience in teaching Xhosa to 1st and 2nd language speakers (at
tertiary level would be a strong recommendation)
- Be an active researcher in the field of African Languages and Literatures
- A background in Linguistics would be a strong recommendation
- Proficiency in English
Responsibilities:
- Teaching Xhosa to 1st and 2nd language speakers from beginners' to
advanced level
- Contribution to the range of courses in Indigenous Languages and
Literatures offered by the Section at all levels
- Engagement in research and the publication of the results of such research
- Contribution to the administration of courses offered by the Section
The annual remuneration packages, including benefits, are as follows:
- Lecturer: ZAR372 918
- Entry level Lecturer: ZAR335 626
