Call For Papers
We invite linguists, literary scholars, psychologists, and other researchers
whose academic interests incorporates humor in the broadest sense of the
term, to take part in the third edition of our conference. The following are
some suggestions for the possible presentation topics:
Theories of humor, humor and creativity, allusion, ambiguity, paradox,
parody, ''nonsense'', satire, political humor (including political correctness),
humor in advertising, humorous cartoons, comic strips, Internet humor,
humor and stereotypes, humor and cultural differences, gender and humor,
the psychology of humor, humor and translation, wordplay, humorous
fiction, humorous poetry, slang, wit, joke patterns, humorous riddles,
children's humor, classroom humor... etc.
The languages of the Conference will be English and Polish.
The conference proceedings will be published by Naukowe Wydawnictwo
Piotrkowskie (Piotrkow Academic Publishers).
This call will be open until 5 September 2010. Please send a short abstract,
accompanied by your name and institutional affiliation, in the *.doc or *pdf
format, to akwiat at uni.lodz.pl.
The conference fee is 60 EURO. Detailed information on accommodation
and its costs will be provided in a separae circular.
