Professors/Associate Professors/Assistant Professors (Applied English
Linguistics)

Applicants should (i) have a relevant PhD degree; (ii) have an excellent
teaching record at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including
supervision of postgraduate students; and (iii) be willing to contribute to
the collective responsibilities of the highly collegial Department. An
excellent record of ongoing research and publication in psycholinguistics,
or preferably in second language acquisition, will be a distinct advantage.
Applicants with research specialisms in other areas may also be considered.
Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years
initially commencing January 2011, which, subject to mutual agreement, may
lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. [Note: Those who
have responded to the previous advertisement for these posts (under the
same Ref. no.) are under consideration and need not re-apply on this occasion.]
Salary and Fringe Benefits
Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and
experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package,
including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for appointments of
two years or longer, and housing benefits for eligible appointees. Further
