Description:

Our client in Cary, NC is looking for a Knowledge Engineer to join their team 
for a 6 month Contract opportunity. This exciting position will entail 
developing, enhancing and testing knowledge bases. Our client produces 
software knowledge base products that contain reference data & rules used 
to analyze and transform text values in relational databases. Knowledge 
bases are customized for specific semantic domains across multiple human 
languages. So, someone familiar with natural language processing and a 
background in Computational Linguistics is required for this role. This person 
should also be able to assist in development, testing and maintenance of the 
knowledge bases.

Job Responsibilities:
-  Developing, enhancing, and testing knowledge bases
-  Interfacing with subject matter experts and encoding subject matter 
expertise into knowledge base formats
-  Developing and enhancing specifications
-  Developing and enhancing test cases and scripts
-  Maintaining existing software knowledge bases and addressing technical 
requests raised by customers
-  Providing technical support for DataFlux developers who use knowledge 
bases in their applications
-  Writing and maintaining documentation
-  Designing, developing, and ensuring the quality of prototype and 
demonstration systems

Required Skills:
-  Bachelor's degree in computational linguistics or a related field.
-  Experience with natural language parsing
-  Experience with relational database systems
-  Working knowledge of regular expressions
-  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-  Attention to detail

Preferred Skills:
-  Experience in a software development, software testing, or software 
consulting environment. (The level of this position will be determined based 
on the applicant's education, skills, and experience.)
-  Experience with multilingual localized software systems
-  Familiarity with Unicode
-  Experience with XML
-  Exposure to foreign language
