Focus: German language immersion program at levels A1-C1. On the day of arrival,
all participants, except true beginners take a placement test. Comprehensive language
courses in small groups will focus on all four skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).
German Studies Seminars on Contemporary Germany and on German Literature for
participants at B2/C1 level.

Description:
The University of Rhode Island's "German Summer School" is located between New
York and Boston, near various scenic beaches on the East Coast. This six-week
intensive German language and culture program is made up of two three-week
sessions held on the campus of the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI
(USA). Classes are taught in total immersion, German only format. All faculty
and assistants come from Germany for the program. Participants live with
faculty in a learning community. The summer school also features a plethora of
extra-curricular activities, including film screenings, lectures on
contemporary Germany, language focused games, and excursions.
