Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce the 3rd International Virtual Linguistics and Translators Training Conference that will take place on March 17-April 13, 2014 and will be hosted by Department of Linguistics and Translation Studies of Tula State University (Tula, Russia). The main aim of the conference is to provide a forum for an exchange of ideas, knowledge and practical experience in the broad area of linguistics, language education and translators training, identify new avenues for future research and promote international cooperation among scholars and professional translators. The concept of a virtual conference enables participants to share their ideas with a wider and more global audience, access conference materials on the web, take part in any conference session discussion and interact with other conference participants. 

The conference aims to bring together academics, linguists, translators, interpreters, university teachers and graduate students interested in a wide variety of topics related to linguistics, translation studies and professional language education. 

Call for Papers:

The 3rd International Virtual Linguistics and Translators Training Conference is currently accepting papers. The working languages of the conference are English, Russian, French and German. We welcome papers addressing the following topics:

- Discourse studies
- Cognitive linguistics
- Conversational analysis
- Functional grammar
- Translation studies
- Language education
- Computer assisted language teaching
- Teaching foreign languages to undergraduate and graduate students
- Teaching foreign languages to students majoring in translation 
- Teaching English for academic purposes

All papers will be published on the electronic conferences page of Tula State University. Articles should be sent as a MS Word attachment to conference.linguistics at yandex.ru before March 1, 2014. Please include in the body of the message or attached as a separate file the following information:

(1) Your name
(2) Article title
(3) Institutional affiliation and current position
(4) Your doctoral advisor's name and affiliation (for graduate students)
(5) Email address
(6) Other contact information

Guidelines for Papers:

Papers to be published on the conference web page are to be submitted by March 1, 2014 via email. Notifications of acceptance will be communicated within a week after receiving your paper. Selected papers will appear in a proceedings issue of the Tula State University Herald (Linguistics series) journal.
