The Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT) Student Association announces the 13th Annual SLAT Roundtable at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.

Call for Proposals:
The Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT) Student Association cordially invites student and faculty participation at the 13th Annual SLAT Roundtable at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.
Submissions representing the diverse areas of the SLAT Program (e.g. language pedagogy, language assessment, program administration, language planning and policy, literacies, language use, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, language processes, cognitive sciences, psycholinguistics, language analysis, discourse analysis, multilingualism, heritage languages, gaming, language learning and technology) as well as those that bridge these areas are welcome.
Categories:
Presentation: 30 minutes (20 minutes talk/10 minutes Q&A)
A paper presentation is a formal talk addressing a small audience of up to 30 participants. The presentation may be an original empirical research as well as an original theoretical investigation by the presenter(s). It may include one or more authors.
Panel Presentation: 80 minutes (20 minutes each/20 minutes Q&A)
Students (especially pre-dissertation students) are encouraged to create panels of 3 to discuss different perspectives on complex issues in second language acquisition and/or teaching. Panel speakers should establish a brief theoretical framework before beginning discussions of specific studies.
Poster: A visual representation of research.
Posters may include materials such as data, graphs, diagrams, pictures, and text. At the poster session, the presenters have a chance to discuss their research with a smaller group of attendees. Participants submitting proposals for presentations may also wish to be considered for the poster session. Awards will be given for posters at the end of the Roundtable.
Workshop: 75 minutes
A practical demonstration of a theory or an application of a pedagogical methodology. The presenter engages and involves the audience through experiential learning techniques. There may be more than one presenter.
