Meeting Description: 

The colloquium will deal with questions relating to the emergence and
evolution of complex prepositions out of other categories, their variation,
and the processes of their grammaticalization in the direction of simple
prepositions. Questions such as the setting of plausible syntactic and
semantic criteria for the definition of complex prepositions, their polysemic
character, productivity and typological status are also of relevance. It is
hoped that the colloquium will offer an interesting sample of current research
in the field.
