Description:

In order for computers to be able to understand natural language, the
candidate will review and annotate Japanese linguistic data based on semantic,
syntactic, and morphological characteristics, and collect data for training
machines using our specialized system.

Job Description

As a Linguistic Data Evaluator, you will be reviewing and annotating
linguistic data and carrying out a number of tasks to improve natural language
processing.

This includes:
- Reviewing and annotating linguistic data
- Labeling text for semantic, syntactic and morphological characteristics
- Providing transcriptions for lexicon entries according to guidelines
- Deriving NLP data for new and on-going projects

Job Requirements

- Native-level speaker of Japanese language and good English skills
- Degree in Linguistics or Computational Linguistics with knowledge of
semantics, syntax, morphology or lexicography
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts; should have an interest in
natural language processing
- Excellent oral written communication skills
- Keen interest in technology and computer literate (should feel comfortable
using in-house tools and should have an interest in linguistics and linguistic
resources)
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills

Employment Status

This position is temporary - up to 24 months or until the project finishes.
The contract period will be between one and three months and will have to be
renewed every time. The working location will be at our client’s office in
Tokyo.
