The Department of Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts and Science, University of Toronto invites applications for a one-year contractually limited term appointment (CLTA) in Semantics at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2014.
The position involves teaching courses in semantics at the undergraduate and graduate level, and others to be determined from among courses such as the following: Introduction to Language, English Words, and English Grammar. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Linguistics specializing in semantics by date of appointment, a record of excellence in research, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include teaching and supervision at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Applications should include a cover letter of no more than 2 single-spaced pages, curriculum vitae, a research statement, evidence of teaching ability, and the names and email addresses of three referees.
