Meeting Description:
The workshop is organized by the LSP Research Unit of the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (University of Pisa) and focuses on some of the most recent developments in the research on ESP and Tourism Discourse. The speakers are four of the most prominent Italian scholars in this field.
With its intricate mix of informative, descriptive, and persuasive function, tourism discourse represents an ideal vantage point to investigate phenomena such as the linguistic construction of identity, the creation of stereotypes and culturemes as well as linguistic variation and change.
