Meeting Description:
The CAANS/ACAEN’s 2016 annual meeting will be held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on 28-29 May 2016, to coincide with the Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities. The University of Calgary, which is hosting this year’s Congress, has chosen as its theme “Energizing communities/L’énergie des communautés”.
Call for Papers:
Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Netherlandic Studies (CAANS) / Association canadienne pour l’avancement des études néerlandaises (ACAEN)
University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta
28-29 May 2016
We invite proposals for 20-minute papers addressing topics related to Netherlandic studies, particularly to the Dutch language, its linguistics and literature. Presentations will be 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for questions and discussion and may be delivered in English, French or Dutch. Deadline for submissions is January 7, 2016.
Please send your title and a short abstract (150-300 words exclusive of any references) BEFORE JANUARY 7, 2016 (postmark or email date stamp) to:

Email submissions are preferred. Please send your abstract as an email attachment, if possible in Word or as pdf. On a separate page or in the body of the email, please provide the following information:

- Your affiliation (if applicable)

- The title of your paper
- Details of any additional A/V or other equipment needs (all presenters will have a computer, laptop connection, data projector, screen, basic sound system and internet access available to them).
The conference program will be posted on the CAANS/ACAEN website at www.caans-acaen.ca in early April 2016 and in the April 2016 Newsletter.
