International Conference for the 20th Anniversary of the Department of Greek,
Democritus University of Thrace, Greece
On the occasion of its 20th Anniversary, the Department of Greek of Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, is pleased to announce the International Conference on Identities: Language and Literature. The conference will be held from 9 to 11 October 2015 in Komotini, Greece.
Call for Papers:
Main topics:
1. Identities in speech/language
2. Identities in Arts
3. National and racial identities
4. Gender identities
5. Social, religious and cultural/intercultural identities
6. Scientific identities and theoretical approaches to identities
7. The issue of identities within bordering geographical regions, such as Thrace, and a variety of identities as a field of cultural osmosis
The conference is open to contributions from diverse disciplines and invites scholars from various fields of Humanities and Social Sciences. The conference aims both at promoting cooperation among colleagues from diverse fields of study and teaching of Humanistic and Social studies at an international level and offering colleagues from other institutions an opportunity to find out more about the Department of Greek at Democritus University of Thrace and the region of Thrace in general.
Abstract Submission Instructions:
All proposals should be accompanied by a single page abstract in English or Greek (500 words maximum) and be submitted no later than March 29, 2015, along with the presenter’s name, postal and e-mail address, institutional affiliation (if any), discipline and the field of studies/language/literature the paper will belong to (Ancient, Medieval or Modern Greek, Latin). To submit an abstract please follow the link for abstract submission on the conference website: http://congress.helit.duth.gr. All abstracts must be submitted on-line. For technical reasons, overdue submissions and those not submitted on-line will not be considered. Speakers will have 20 minutes to deliver their paper, allowing time for a 10-minute discussion.
