Background:
The School is sponsored by ESSENCE, a high-profile Marie Curie Initial Training Network that investigates all aspects of evolving semantics and aims to bring together research done on this subject at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, Machine Learning, the Semantic Web, and other related fields. For further information, visit http://www.essence-network.com.
As one of ESSENCE's core training events, the Summer School will be open to non-network participants. See
https://www.essence-network.com/essence-events/autumnschool/ for our previously held Autumn School in Ischia last year.
Registration to the School is free, and we will provide a number of bursaries to enable external participants to attend (priority will given to students, but researchers may also apply).
Venue and Location:
The Summer School will be hosted by the School of Informatics of the University of Edinburgh and held at the Informatics Forum in central Edinburgh during the Edinburgh Festival(s), which offer(s) thousands of events as part of the world's largest culture festival, and make Edinburgh a unique place to visit in August. See http://www.edinburghfestivalcity.com/ for more information.
Most key venues of these events are within walking distance from the Summer School venue. If you are planning to participate, we recommend booking travel and accommodation as soon as possible.
