Meeting Description:
To celebrate 60-year Russian Studies in Taiwan, Department of Slavic Languages
and Literatures at National Chengchi University in Taiwan will host the 7th
International Conference of Slavic Languages, Literatures and Cultures on
November 11–12, 2017. The main topic of this conference will be focused on
“Transforming Slavic Value System in Slavic Languages and Cultures”.
Call for Papersː
The main topic of this conference will be focused on “Transforming Slavic
Value System in Slavic Languages and Cultures”. Papers on the following
sub-topics or areas of interest are also warmly invited.
The sub-topics of this Conference are as follows:
1. Slavic value system from global and Slavic perspectives
2. Constants and variants in the Slavic value system: Spirituality, Holy
Foolishness/ Jurodstvo, Glamour etc.
3. Values as assistance and resistance in intercultural communication
4. Art as the carrier of the Slavic value system
5. Connotation and extention in Slavic and Chinese speech act
6. Inner forms of words and the expression of national spirit
7. Slavic languages and cultures in the perspectives of ideology, politics,
pedagogy etc.
8. Language and cultural issues of Slavic languages teaching in Chinese
context
9. Other topics related to Slavic languages, literatures and cultures.
The topic of the round table discussions in this Conference is “Transformation
of the value system in the Slavic world: 1917-2017”.
Conference languages: Chinese, Russian, English.
Please fax or email the registration form and the paper abstract, 300-500
words, in Chinese, English or Russian by February 15, 2017. The letters of the
acceptance of paper abstract and the formal invitation will be sent by April
15, 2017. The full paper submissions are due on September 15, 2017. Full
articles should be between 8,000-12,000 words, including abstract and
keywords, and should be sent electronically as a Word file to the email
address of the conference committee: conference.slavic at gmail.com. The
committee reserves the right to select papers for presentation at the
conference. The peer-reviewed conference proceedings Slavica Formosana will be
published after the conference.
Important Dates:
- Abstract Submission Due: February 15, 2017
- Notification of Acceptance: April 15, 2017
- Full Paper Submission Due: September 15, 2017
Registration Fee: 1,500 NTD (including conference fee and conference
materials) will be collected at the registration desk.
Style Sheetː
1. The manuscript shall be written in Chinese, English or Russian. Please edit
it with Microsoft Word on A4 paper. Left and right margins should be 2cm; top
and bottom margins 3cm. The font for the title shall be Times New Roman 18pt
and the main text shall be Times New Roman 12pt. Text-align should be set to
justify, and text-indent 1cm. Single-spaced.
2. Ways of marking differences: bold or italic font.
3. The first page of each manuscript should cover the abstract in Chinese,
English or Russian, with key words, and also the data of author(s), including
the name and affiliation. If the main text is not written in English, the
second page should specify the abstract and key words in English, with the
name and affiliation of the author(s). The main text should start from the
subsequent pages. Footnotes should appear at the end of each page.
4. Please follow the MLA Style. The order of the bibliographic entries shall
be first Chinese, English, Russian and then in other languages.
