Meeting Description:

Polish Cognitive Linguistics Association and Institute of English Studies,
University of Rzeszów, Poland, are pleased to launch a Call for Papers for the
2017 annual PCLA conference Cognitive Linguistics in the year 2017.

When: September 21-23, 2017 
Where: University of Rzeszów, Poland
Conference languages: English and Polish

Conference Fee: 150 EUR/500 PLN (PhD students: 100 EUR/400 PLN) 

The conference fee includes conference materials, tea and coffee during the
conference and dinner on Thursday, September 21.

The conference fee does not include meals and accommodation.

NOTE: If you'd like the invoice to be issued to your institution, please make
the payment through the institution. For formal reasons, invoices can only be
issued to the person/institution marked as the payer. 


Call for Papers:

Polish Cognitive Linguistics Association and Institute of English Studies,
University of Rzeszów, Poland, are pleased to launch a Call for Papers for the
2017 annual PCLA conference Cognitive Linguistics in the year 2017. 

Submission of Abstracts:

Your abstract should clearly state the scope and aims of your research, the
methodology applied, the expected results, etc. Above all, it must be evident
that your research lies within the cognitive linguistics enterprise, e.g. (the
list is obviously open-ended and should only be treated as a set of general
guidelines): 

- Cognitive semantics 
- Linguistic categorization
- Metaphor and metonymy 
- Conceptual blending
- Force dynamics 
- Embodiment (including extended and/or social embodiment)
- Cognitive sociolinguistics 
- Cognitive cultural linguistics/ethnolinguistics
- Cognitive approaches to discourse 
- Cognitive text linguistics
- Cognitive poetics 
- Perspectivization 
- Language and the brain
- Cognitive linguistics from the pedagogical perspective
- Cognitive approaches to translation
- Cognitive historical linguistics

Please send in your doc or pdf abstract of no more than 300 words (plus 3-4
keywords and References, if any), in English or Polish, using the form at
http://www.ptjk2017.ur.edu.pl/callforpapers.html by March 1, 2017. Include
your name and affiliation in the abstract – these will subsequently be removed
for the purpose of the anonymous review process.

Important Dates:

Submission of abstracts (200-300 words): by March 1, 2017 
Confirmation of acceptance: by April 20, 2017
Payment deadline: May 20, 2017
