Description:

The role of the Linguistic Project Manager is to consult with Machine
Intelligence Researchers on creating guidelines and setting standards for a
variety of experimental and current NLP production projects, as well as to
manage the work of a team of Junior Linguists to achieve high quality data
output.

Work will be done onsite in Mountain View, CA, with an immediate start date.

Responsibilities include:
- Managing, training, and overseeing the work of a team of junior linguists 
- Consulting with researchers and engineers on the development of linguistic
databases
- Creating guidelines for semantic, syntactic and morphological projects
- Evaluating and analyzing data quality

Job requirements:
- Graduate degree, or comparable work experience, in Linguistics or
Computational Linguistics
- Native-level speaker of English
- Knowledge of semantics and syntax
- Experience programming or scripting, and working in Linux/Unix environment
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts; should have an interest in
natural language processing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Able to multitask effectively, and adjust smoothly to changing priorities

Preferred qualifications: 
- Previous project management and people management experience
- High degree of proficiency in at least one other language
- Experience with linguistic annotation in semantics and syntax

Project duration:
12 months (with potential for extension). This is a fixed-term contract, not a
permanent position.
