Ilha do Desterro is a top-tier, open-access journal published by the Graduate
Program in English of Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Florianopolis,
Brazil), which has been publishing articles in the areas of English,
Literature and Cultural Studies since 1979. The editors would like to invite
manuscripts to be considered for a special issue to appear in September 2018
focusing on research in second or foreign language (L2) speech. We welcome
original, previously unpublished papers covering a variety of themes related
to the acquisition and teaching of L2 speech, including (a) Speech perception
and production; (b) Theories and models of L2 speech acquisition; (c)
Acquisition of L2 phonology and phonotactics; (d) Multilingualism and the
acquisition of additional languages; (e) Pronunciation teaching and learning;
and (f) Sociolinguistic, psycholinguistic, and neurolinguistic aspects of L2
speech learning.
Submitted articles will be subject to the normal peer review process of the
Ilha do Desterro journal. Please read the Author Guidelines below and visit
