Meeting Description:

The Polish Cognitive Linguistics Association (PTJK/PCLA) is pleased to
announce its annual 2019 conference to be held from 26 September till 28
September in Bialystok, Poland. The conference will be locally organized and
hosted by the Institute of Modern Languages of the University of Białystok.

The PCLA is an affiliate of International Cognitive Linguistics Association
(ICLA). 

PCLA conferences are held annually to provide an academic platform for
cognitive linguists to present their research findings, exchange ideas, share
experiences and research results, explore opportunities for collaboration, and
recognize outstanding achievements within their scientific community. We hope
that the 2019 PCLA Conference will attract the best minds, and bring together
researchers and scholars in the cognitive enterprise.


Call for Papers:

We invite abstracts (as well as your ideas for poster and theme sessions)
whose research lies within the Cognitive Linguistics framework and which
address topics that include, but are not limited to:

- cognitive semantics in the broad sense of the term,
- metaphor and metonymy,
- conceptual blending,
- prototypes and categorization,
- polysemy,
- image schemas and force dynamics,
- embodiment and socio-cultural situatedness
- cognitive sociolinguistics,
- cognitive semiotics,
- multimodality (cartoons, comics, gesture studies, etc.)

Your abstract should make it clear that your research lies within the
cognitive linguistics enterprise. Please refrain from any self-identification
in the abstract. Do not include your name and affiliation in the main body of
the text. Abstracts of no more than 500 words (including references) should be
submitted via the conference website. We also encourage you to send your ideas
on theme/poster sessions by January 31, 2019 (ptjk2019 at uwb.edu.pl).
Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection by May 31, 2019.
