Unit for (Experimental) Syntax and Heritage Languages (RUESHeL) at
Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

ConSOLE is an annual conference for (post)graduate and advanced undergraduate
students in Linguistics from around the world. SOLE, founded in 1992 by
students of the Holland Institute of Generative Linguistics, is currently
based at Leiden University Centre for Linguistics. Together with a local
organizing committee, it runs an annual conference for young linguists,
providing a forum for the upcoming generation to present research to an
international audience. More information about SOLE, previous ConSOLEs, as
well as online ConSOLE proceedings can be found at the SOLE webpage.

We are delighted to hear contributions of the following invited speakers:

Dora Alexopoulou, University of Cambridge
Nora Boneh, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Claudia Felser, University of Potsdam
Andrew Koontz-Garboden, University of Manchester
George Walkden, University of Konstanz
Eva Zimmermann, University of British Columbia / Leipzig

ConSOLE 2019 is supported by The Research Unit on Experimental Syntax and
Heritage Languages, funded by the DFG Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Preis 2014
awarded to Artemis Alexiadou

Call for Papers:

The 27th edition of the Conference of the Student Organisation of Linguistics
in Europe (ConSOLE) will be held between February 21-23 2019 by the
Leibniz-Preis Research Unit for (Experimental) Syntax and Heritage Languages
(RUESHeL) at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Berlin. ConSOLE aims to
showcase the best papers in linguistics by students from across Europe and the
rest of the world and provide students with a platform to present to an
international audience.

Graduate students and early-career researchers are invited to submit abstracts
for oral presentations (20 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion) and poster
presentations. We invite abstracts of both theoretical and empirical
significance from across all linguistic fields, e.g. Syntax, Morphology,
Phonology, Semantics, Diachronic linguistics, Phonetics, Pragmatics, Language
Acquisition, Psycholinguistics, experimental methods, among others. ConSOLE
has traditionally been a forum for generative linguistics, while this remains
a preference, papers not including generative approaches, especially in the
case of empirical/experimental studies, are not excluded.

The deadline for abstract submissions is September 30, 2018. Notifications of
acceptance will be sent out in late November 2018.

Abstract guidelines:

Abstracts should be a maximum of 2 pages (including references, examples,
tables, keywords, etc.) and must have 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides,
and be set in Times New Roman with a 12pt font.

Submissions are limited to two per author, with at most one paper being
single-authored.

The submission must be anonymous and not reveal the identity of the author(s)
in any way.

Please indicate whether your abstract should be considered for oral
presentation, poster presentation, or for both.

Abstracts should be submitted in PDF format through EasyChair by September 30,
2018.

You can submit your abstract here:
