Focus: The Yerevan Academy for Linguistics and Philosophy (YALP) is an intensive summer program in linguistics and philosophy that is sponsored by the organizers, who are donating their time and energy. YALP 2018 will bring together 50 undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world. The summer school is generously hosted by The American University of Armenia.
The purpose of the academy is to provide an opportunity for students to develop their knowledge and skills, possibly with a view toward applying to doctoral programs in philosophy or linguistics (including programs in the USA and Europe).
There will be no tuition or fees for students participating in The Yerevan Academy for Linguistics and Philosophy.
Minimum Education Level: No Minimum
Description:
This summer program will have two parallel streams. The philosophy stream will
include four courses: Value Ethics, Philosophy of Art, Conditionals and
Possible Worlds, and The Philosophies of Wittgenstein. The linguistics stream
will include four courses: Discourse Pragmatics, Computational Linguistics,
Fundamentals of Syntactic Analysis and Discourse Semantics. See website below
