Description:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is one of the top universities in the
nation for language education and research. The UW-Madison Language Institute
promotes and supports collaborative initiatives on the UW-Madison campus and
beyond to promote education, research, advising, and outreach related to the
teaching and learning of languages. Through its support of interdisciplinary
academic programs; programming for faculty, staff and students; professional
development of instructional staff; undergraduate pre-major and career
advising; K-12 and community outreach; research; and special projects in areas
such as curriculum development, the Language Institute serves an intellectual
and administrative home on the UW-Madison campus for collaborative initiatives
in languages that cross departmental and/or disciplinary boundaries.

The Language Institute Associate Director provides leadership and support in
advancing the Language Institute’s mission by developing and managing Language
Institute programs, projects, and grants; overseeing the Language Institute’s
professional development programs for instructional staff; supervising
Language Institute staff; managing the Language Institute’s daily operations
and budget; and representing the Director and Language Institute on and
off-campus, as appropriate.
