Description:
The Department of Northern European Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
is seeking to appoint a doctoral researcher (wissenschaftliche
Mitarbeiter*in), starting April 1st, 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The post is part time (67%), for a fixed-term period of six years, with the
possibility of expansion to a full time position (100%) for 5,5 years during
the period of appointment. The main responsibility of the successful candidate
will be to carry out research resulting in a monograph (PhD thesis), as well
as to teach 1-2 classes per semester.
Applications are invited from those with a MA (or equivalent) in Scandinavian
Linguistics or General Linguistics with a focus on North Germanic languages.
(Near-)native proficiency in at least one Continental Scandinavian language
(Danish, Swedish, Norwegian) is required. Applicants are furthermore expected
to be able to teach in German no later than one year after appointment.
