Meeting Description:
The focus of this conference is the relationship between linguistic pragmatics
and philosophy, and the possible applications of pragmatic theories to
different practical domains (including legal interpretation, medical
interviews, intercultural communication). The goal is to broach different
approaches and theories meet and discuss, and consider social challenges
coming from various fields.
The conference hosts sessions on pragmatics and philosophy; pragmatics and
cognition; argumentation theory; pragmatics and law; socio-pragmatics;
clinical pragmatics
Call for Papers:
Selected papers will be published in one or two volumes of the Springer series
“Perspectives in Pragmatics, Philosophy, and Psychology.”

Submission Info:
We invite the submission of papers on the topics of conference. Submit your
research by January 31, 2020. Submission is made by sending a proposal to:
acapone at unime.it; perconti at unime.it. The submitted papers should be no more
than 3 pages long (no more than 1000 words). The papers must be prepared for
blind referee, with all self-reference and personal data suppressed.
Important Dates:
January 31, 2020 Abstract submission deadline
February 28, 2020 Notification of paper acceptance
Registration:
The registration can be done at the welcome desk: Palazzo Giavanti, via A.
Sofia, 78. Noto (SR) both on 16th, July, 2020 (15-19 pm) and 17th, July, 2020,
from 8 am.
Fee:
The conference fee: 70 € (including social dinner). It can be payed during the
registration.
Practicalities:
Noto can be reached through Catania airport, where one can find buses coming
from and going to Noto every thirty minutes. Noto is a Baroque town with
splendid buildings.
