Description:
The Department of Asian Studies at Williams College invites applications for a
full-time one-year (leave replacement) visiting position in Japanese language
instruction beginning September 2020. Successful candidates will teach five
courses over two semesters. The position could be renewable for a second year.
We welcome candidates who can teach all levels of language courses.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese;
- A graduate degree, Ph.D. or ABD preferred, in Japanese, linguistics,
literature, cultural studies or any related field;
- Strong teaching experience at the college level; and
- Ability to teach all levels of language courses in close coordination with
departmental colleagues.

sample video clip of language teaching in Japanese would be helpful. The
deadline to submit application materials is December 15, 2019.

to work effectively with a student population that is broadly diverse with
regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and
