Description:
The English Department of the Faculty of Arts, University of Lausanne, invites
applications for the post of Associate Professor in English Linguistics with a
specialism in Language Acquisition in bi-/multilingual contexts.
Your responsibilities:
- 6 hours of teaching per week (BA- and MA-level courses), including the
coordination of one and involvement in both compulsory first-year courses
Introduction of English Language and Linguistics and English Composition;
- Mentorship of students at different academic levels, exam administration,
and supervision of MA dissertations and PhD theses;
- Maintenance of a strong international research profile;
- Readiness to strengthen the research strand at the University, building on
existing national and/or international research collaborations;
- A leading role in administration within the department, with the expectation
of service at the faculty/university level (in French).
Your qualifications:
- A PhD in (English) Linguistics and a completed postdoctoral project or
equivalent academic qualifications in
- Language Acquisition in bi-/multilingual contexts;
- Publication of two monographs OR equivalent academic publications;
- Demonstrated research excellence in the relevant field in the PhD thesis,
postdoctoral project or further publications;
- Experience in university teaching at all levels;
- Demonstrated ability to obtain third-party subsidies and funding;
- Experience working in a team.
