Description:
The Institute of English Studies is looking for a University Assistant without
doctorate.
30 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 4 years; position to
be filled as of September 1st 2021.
Your duties:
- Developing and carrying out a PhD project in the domain of
cognitive-functional grammar of English
- Engaging in independent research and publication
- Participating in and co-organising workshops and conferences
- Teaching courses in accordance with the requirements of the collective wage
agreement (Kollektivvertrag)
- Assisting in research and teaching related administration
Your profile:
- Mag.phil. or MA degree in English linguistics, preferably with a focus on
English grammar
- Experience with or willingness to employ computer corpora and corpus-based
research methods
- Good knowledge of cognitive-functional theories of language
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
- Very good computer skills
- Willingness and ability to work in a team, social and communicative
competence, independence and goal-oriented
- Teaching experience (desirable)
