Meeting Description:

The III International Conference on Revitalization of Indigenous and
Minoritized Languages (III ICRIML) will be held on 13-16 September, 2022 in
two venues: the University of Girona (in the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty
of Education and Psychology) and the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (in
the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences). This Conference aims to be a
meeting point for people working for the revitalization of indigenous and
minoritized languages from all over the world from different points of view:
research, activism, pedagogy and practice on languages and cultures of
indigenous and minoritized populations.

The main purpose of the Conference is to bring together researchers,
activists, language professionals and students to foster a global and
interdisciplinary dialogue and to serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas,
experiences and research on issues related to language revitalization. The
Conference has three main objectives: first, to disseminate educational and
research aspects related to multilingualism; second, to publicize actions in
favor of the revitalization of indigenous and minoritized languages; and
third, to disseminate research on linguistic, social, political and cultural
aspects related to indigenous and minoritized languages.


Call for Papers:

The Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the
University of Girona and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of the
University of Perpignan Via Domitia invite proposals for panels, individual
communications, round tables, interactive workshops, posters and samples of
didactic technology for the Third International Conference on Revitalization
of Indigenous and Minoritized Languages (III ICRIML). Proposals must clearly
indicate to which of the central topics of the Conference they are related.
Submissions that address the main challenges at the intersection of theory,
research and praxis are welcome.

- James Costa (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris III)
- Elena Benedicto (Purdue University)
- Gerald Roche (La Trobe University)

IMPORTANT DATES

- Submission of proposals: From December 15, 2021 to February 15, 2022
- Notification of acceptance: April 1, 2022
- Registration: starting April 6, 2022
- Conference: September 13-16, 2022

Priority will be given to proposals that address one or more of the following
topics:

1. Linguistic diversity and revitalisation
2. Education and learning
3. Linguistic communities and socio-cultural vision
4. Language and power
