Description:

The Department of Linguistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio
State University seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor specializing in
the computational study of linguistic meaning to teach graduate and
undergraduate courses in computational linguistics and semantics, conduct
research, and advise student research. Expertise in analyzing deep learning
models, computational cognitive modeling or experimental methods is preferred,
though candidates who focus on other areas of computational semantics will
also be considered. The ideal candidate should have a strong record of
excellence in teaching and research. The department is committed to diversity,
equity, inclusion, and outreach and we especially welcome applications from
under-represented scholars.

This appointment is initially for one year, with a possibility of renewal for
two additional years.

Qualifications: 
A Ph.D. in Linguistics or a closely related field is required prior to the
position start date of August 15, 2022. Appointment is contingent on the
university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law
and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background
check.
