Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Indiana University invites applications for a
Visiting Assistant Professor position in the area of Computational Linguistics
to begin August 1, 2022 through the 2022-2023 academic year. The successful
applicant will be comfortable teaching courses ranging from a gentle
introduction to computers and language for undergraduate non-majors to
statistical NLP for dedicated graduate students. They may also have the
opportunity to engage in student mentoring, with a variety of students
enrolled in one of IU’s many CL degree programs
(http://cl.indiana.edu/programs.html).
 
Department Information: 
Indiana University and the Department of Linguistics have a tradition of
diverse language and linguistics education, a well-developed supercomputing
infrastructure, an extensive Cognitive Science program, and the presence of
Linguist List, among many other opportunities for integration. 

Basic Qualifications: 
Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) by August 1, 2022 in Computational
Linguistics, or in Linguistics, Computer Science, or a related field with
extensive experience in computational linguistics.
