Description:
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Rutgers University invites
applications for a one-year non tenure-track Lecturer position as Spanish
Language Coordinator with possibilities of renewal. The position dates will be
Sept. 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, with an additional part-time appointment in
August for some tasks done before the start of the semester.
Responsibilities:
Coordinating curricular, administrative, and staffing matters related to our
well-established and growing Spanish language program and Spanish for Heritage
Speakers Certificate. The successful applicant will coordinate language
courses for second language learners and heritage speakers of Spanish, and
will have a 2-2 teaching load. Teaching duties may include teaching Spanish
second language and heritage language courses, an undergraduate-level course
in teaching methods, and graduate-level courses in the applicant's area of
research specialization.
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese offers a Spanish major and minor, a
Master of Arts in Teaching, a Master of Arts in Translation and
Interpretation, a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism, and a
Ph.D. in Literature and Culture. The successful candidate will be expected to
carry out the Department’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
