Description:

The Department of German Studies at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, recognized
by AATG as a Center of Excellence, invites applications for a full-time
Assistant Teaching Professor position in the lecture-track. This position has
an initial 3-year term with opportunity for renewal and promotion. On the

The position includes teaching five courses each year at all levels of the
undergraduate curriculum, and the opportunity to direct and teach in our
summer study abroad program in Vienna. The position also involves fostering
student-focused initiatives and opportunities and working with colleagues on
curricular enhancement and coordination. Application deadline: November 15.

Qualifications: 
The successful candidate will have a stellar teaching record, a demonstrated
commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student body, as well as the
potential to contribute to the continued development of an innovative,
content-based undergraduate curriculum. 

We seek to expand and diversify our faculty by encouraging applicants with
specializations in one or more of the following fields: 
 - translation and multilingualism, 
 - German for professional purposes including business German, 
 - discourses of minoritized communities including Black and Asian German
Studies, 
 - digital humanities, 
 - applied linguistics, 
 - linguistic anthropology. 

A Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment as well as bilingual
proficiency in German and English. Emory University is an equal employment
