Description:
The Linguistics Section of the Institute of Hispanic Languages and
Literatures (University of Bern, Switzerland) is advertising a vacancy
for an early postdoc (85%). Starting date: 1 February 2024 for an
initial period of three years (until 31 January 2027). The position
includes teaching in Hispanic Linguistics (starting in February 2024)
with an average of six teaching hours per year. Collaboration in the
academic, administrative and cultural activities of the Section and
academic research is also expected. Teaching language is Spanish.

Position Requirements:
- PhD in Hispanic Linguistics
- Specialisation in sociolinguistic and/or discourse analysis, or
linguistic anthropology, preferably in topics related to
transnationalism and mobility, contact linguistics or topics related
to social equity
- Active familiarity with electronic methodological support tools
(e.g. ELAN, Praat, corpus software, qualitative analysis software,
etc.) and/or statistical software
- Excellent command of Spanish as a working language. Preferably a
good command of German (B2). Excellent command of written and spoken
English is also expected
- Teaching experience
- Highly motivated, willing to work as an active and committed team
member
