Meeting Description:

The International Conference on Theoretical East Asian
Psycholinguistics (ICTEAP) intends to promote dissemination of
state-of-the-art findings in psycholinguistics, with emphasis on
research that has cross-linguistic implications and empirical work
that refers to East Asian languages, following the spirit of The Tokyo
Conference on Psycholinguistics (TCP).

The Fifth International Conference on Theoretical East Asian
Psycholinguistics (ICTEAP-5) will be organized as an in-person event
at Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, on April 17 (Thu) - 19 (Sat),
2025.

We invite submissions of papers in any area of L1 and L2 acquisition,
(bimodal) bilingual acquisition, language processing, and cognitive
neuroscience of language, among others, as well as theoretical studies
(in phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, or pragmatics) that have
implications for “Plato’s Problem” (“How do we gain a rich linguistic
system given our fragmentary and impoverished experience?”).

A special session on ‘Theoretical, Computational, and Biological
Models of Human Language’ will be organized. In light of this special
session, studies from interdisciplinary paradigms are especially
encouraged.

Call for Papers:

ICTEAP-5 will feature both oral and poster sessions. The abstract
submission form allows you to specify whether you would prefer an oral
or poster presentation. All abstracts should be written in English and
limited to 500 words, with one extra page to include examples,
references, tables, and figures. Abstracts should be anonymous and in
standard 12-point Times New Roman font, with margins of 1 inch.

An individual can submit and participate in more than one abstract but
be listed as the first author on only one submission. All abstracts
will undergo a double-blind review process. Review results will be
notified by December 20th (Fri), 2024. The first author must register
in the early-bird registration period (by January 31, 2025) and
present onsite.
