Meeting Description:

The 2025 Kaleidoscope 19th Annual Graduate Student Conference invites
discussion on harmony, discord, and the future we forge through
linguistic, literary, sociocultural, technological, institutional and
ecocritical phenomena and their implications in order to advance the
future of Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies. Kaleidoscope aspires to
foster meaningful collaboration between attendees, scholars, and
speakers. We hope to expand horizons through the exchange of
knowledge, ideas and experiences discussed at the event. Altogether,
we aim for the two-fold outcome of 1) furthering future research and
2) motivating awareness and positive change in the fields of Spanish
and Portuguese language, literature, film, and culture. The conference
will be a two-day interdepartmental event designed to offer an open
platform for undergraduates, graduates, professors, and scholars to
exchange ideas and research. Each day will entail up to three panels
of presentations, moderated by Ph.D. students and professors from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese

Call for Papers:

We welcome individual presentations in English, Spanish, or Portuguese
that address the conference theme and/or any of the listed subfields.
