Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics; Language Acquisition

Meeting Description:

Please join us in Flagstaff, Arizona, for SLRF 2025, which will take
place on September 25-28, 2025, and be hosted by the Applied
Linguistics program at Northern Arizona University.

The theme of the conference is Elevating Perspectives: Reaching New
Heights in L2 Research, which calls to mind the advances and
conversations in second language studies that have taken place since
the last SLRF meeting in 2020. All researchers interested in second
language research are invited to attend and participate in what is
sure to be a lively and intellectually-stimulating event. We ask that
you share this invitation with anyone who may be interested in
attending the conference.

SLRF 2025 invites submissions related to second language knowledge,
broadly construed, including (but not limited to) second language
acquisition, L2 pedagogy, bilingualism and multilingualism, language
attrition, language contact, second languages in the clinical setting,
L2 assessment, and teaching second/foreign languages.

Our plenary speakers will be:
-Doug Biber, professor emeritus of Applied Linguistics at Northern
Arizona University
-Masatoshi Sato, professor of English at Universidad Andrés Bello

A call for abstracts will be sent in Fall 2024. Interested researchers
can join the SLRF listserv (https://forms.gle/q6AZDyWfGM9Q3MZcA) to
directly receive conference updates and/or volunteer to review
abstracts (https://forms.gle/hpDrcX8P6PBzU99g7).

Please contact 2025slrf at gmail.com with any related questions. We hope
to see you in Flagstaff!

Best regards,
Kelly Kendro
